Forsyth was founded by Kentaroh Sumida and Joseph Mullen — two long-time friends and collaborators with deep roots in the hair industry. Together, they’ve created a salon where excellence, design, and wellness converge. Kentaroh Sumida, principal partner, is a celebrated stylist known for his precision, calm presence, and editorial eye.

With over two decades of experience in top salons across New York City and Tokyo, Kentaroh brings a quiet mastery to his work and a deep respect for natural beauty. His loyal clientele and intuitive approach have earned him a reputation as both an artist and a mentor.
